Lanthanum nitrate




Lanthanum (III) nitrate hexahydrate (La(NO3)3 ) is a strange compound and an important raw material for the production of the rare earth element Lanthanum. The white salt is highly hygroscopic and is deliquescent in high air humidity. Under the microscope, in polarized it is very colorful and shows a wide range of colors.
