Birds at Lake Langano/Ethiopia

The Lake Langano is placed near the Abijatta-Shalla National Park in Ethiopia. It is a great birding area with a high diversity (the Birdlife International code is ET047). The photos were made on a morning around a lodge and on the Nation Park entrance area. The possibility to walk across the savannah and spectacular scenery are unique. Outside the lodges or the park the land is used as farming land or overgrazed, but there are many opportunities to observe birds. Unfortunately I only had half a day, but it's worth a little longer to stay

  8. What lovely birds! I'd love to see some of them for myself some day. We have non-indigenous hares here in New Zealand that look exactly like yours!
