Metamizole under the microscope

Metamizole or Dipyrone, is an analgesic, antispasmodic and antipyretic medicine. The mechanism how it’s working is unknown and it is banned in many countries, because of its side effects. There are some samples of Metamizole crystals under the microscope and in polarized light. The crystals are precipitated on a microscope slide from a solution.

White Stoat

I saw this stoat yesterday during a walk. First he was running away, but it came but to look what I’m doing. The white winter fur is definitely not a good camouflage for this warm winter.

Birding Lake Bishoftu in Ethiopia

Bishoftu is a large recreation area in the South of Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. The area consists of 5 lakes and numerous hotels and clubs. It is also recommended as birding side, but my results were medium. There are too many fenced areas and restrictions. But inside some parks the fauna is divers and it is possible to 50 or more species in two days. This photos are made from a restaurant garden.
